Description

This is my 1st time actually imaging this object other then just a very wide field image that you see a large swath of sky in this part of the sky. IC 1318 is a large emission nebula just east of the bright star Sadr. In fact in both versions you can actually see a glow from that star in about the top middle of the image. After processing this data I noticed how much signal there was in the Ha, Oiii & with my synthetic Sii so I decided to process this image in 3 variations. The 1st image is in NB (shot with my NBZ Dual NB filter 10nm) with RGB stars shot with my L-Pro and SPCC calibrated for accurate star color and was used in ALL 3 variations. the 2nd is in HOO and the 3rd was in SHO.

If you decide to comment on this image please share your thoughts on which one you like the best. I found for my self each one has its own character but I really do like the HOO version.

Once I processed the data I used APP's combine RGB channels and come up with the SHO rendition and then moved into PI to bring out the details within the image.

I posted on the Cave Nebula about having issues with contrast/brightness issues when I uploaded my images as of late to AB and @jimthommes told me about embedding my ICC profile into my images. A big thanks to him! while I saved my images with this box check marked, there was never a color profile embedded! Once I did this its a perfect match from what I see on my monitor as well as once its uploaded to AB!

I hope you like 1 of these and thanks for looking!

Dale

Description: This is a complete reprocess of the original starless data. Much happier with this version now. I also stretched the star layer a bit more.
